Bruce Klein,

Dr. Bruce Klein, a distinguished professor and Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases, has dedicated over two decades to service. His leadership in infectious diseases includes serving as the division leader and making significant contributions to pediatrics as the Vice Chair for Research.

Throughout his career, Dr. Klein has actively supported faculty development, participating in tenure and promotion committees. He chaired both the university’s Divisional Committee on Biological Sciences and the Medical School’s Committee on Promotion to Professor. His campus involvement extends to the University Athletic Board at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Nationally, Dr. Klein has held leadership roles in esteemed organizations such as the American Society for Microbiology, Medical Mycology, and the Gordon Research Conference on Immunology of Fungal Infections. He played a pivotal role as a charter member on multiple NIH study sections, including serving as chair.

In addition to his primary role, Dr. Klein holds affiliate and joint appointments in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology. His diverse contributions reflect a remarkable commitment to advancing both local and national initiatives in the field of infectious diseases.
